You Can't Be What You Can't See

“I am not what I think I am, and I am not what you think I am. I am what I think you think I am.”

Charles Horton Cooley

When you find someone who inspires you, you need to observe them. Listen to them. Shadow them. Learn about the process. Experience the wisdom of someone who's already walked the path. If you feel that I'm your mentor, it's time to start watching this blog and my social media. See if you can get to the point where you can predict my responses to news events or market shifts. See where you stand related to that. Humble yourself and follow. Most won't. Some will. Those who will find someone to follow intentionally (not 'stalk' which is just weird, but study) experience wisdom at a level that those who skip about never do.

I pick specific mentors and immerse in their mindset for months or years at a time until I have sucked the marrow from the inspiration in the bones of their manifestations. I buy all their stuff. I hire them as a coach - or hire one of their coaches if they're fully booked - and I surrender to the wisdom. You cannot progress without humility. You simply cannot step up without stepping beyond your ego (which is both a tiny reality and a fake one) and be vulnerable enough to honour a process as old as time. Another of Cooley's quotes:

"To have no heroes is to have no aspiration, to live on the momentum of the past, to be thrown back upon routine, sensuality, and the narrow self." Charles Horton Cooley
